Cyber Essentials Certified Event Matchmaking Software

You probably already know that personal data is valuable and needs protection. But do you know how to determine which websites care about your data and take measures to protect it? You probably don’t.
We share a lot of personal information on the internet every day, and sometimes this data is sensitive. It’s difficult to keep track of all the ways in which one gives this information away, so it’s not surprising that there has been a considerable increase in cybercrime in the last ten years. It is clear that cybersecurity must be a priority for every business owner, especially for an AI-powered event matchmaking software.
This is why we wanted to make sure you know that you can trust b2match with your participants’ personal data, as well as yours.
What is Cyber Essentials?
The Cyber Essentials scheme is a UK government-backed certification standard developed and operated by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC). For some of our networking event organizers, it is a mandatory certification required by governments and large organizations when working with suppliers on sensitive projects.
It covers everything a business should do to protect itself from cyberattacks. It is referred to as the basic “cyber hygiene” - a bit like washing your hands, brushing your teeth or wearing a face mask. It enforces five key technical controls, and by following them, you create an essential security baseline to protect your business from everyday cyber threats.
- Office Firewalls and Internet Gateways: Securing internet connection with boundary and host-based firewalls.
- Secure Configuration: Settings, passwords and two-factor authentication.
- User and Administrative Accounts: Protecting administrators and limiting access to data and services.
- Malware Protection: Viruses, white-listing and sand-boxing.
- Software Patching: Keeping devices and software up-to-date.
Cyber Essentials and the GDPR
Cyber Essentials helps organizations meet their data protection requirements under the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which came into force in May 2018.
GDPR protects the privacy of individuals and their personal data. It identifies privacy and security risks and ensures robust processes are in place to allow data subjects to enact their rights. GDPR covers a range of requirements, including technical controls, conveniently overlapped by Cyber Essentials, primarily focusing on basic technical controls.
Why did b2match - the AI event matchmaking software - become Cyber Essentials certified?
It is important for us to assure our customers that we take cyber security seriously. This is why we invested our resources into obtaining this certification. To acquire it, we proved that cyber protection standards across several IT-related control parameters have all been met.
We are committed to protecting your data and that of your partners and participants. You can be sure we have a clear picture of our event networking platform’s cyber security level and we won't stop working on improving it.
