Mollie is back — with iDEAL, Bancontact, and local payment methods your attendees actually use!

Every organizer knows this feeling: the event is live, registrations are up, and yet, somehow, the payments for participants' tickets aren't. Not because people don't want to pay, but because the payment experience got in their way. Today, we're fixing that from two directions at once!

Mollie is back as a payment provider for all newly created version 7 events, and checkout now offers the local payment methods your attendees are already using at home.

When your payment setup holds you back.

Up until now, organizers hosting events on version 7 of our platform could only take online card payments through Stripe. Anyone who wanted to keep using Mollie was left to fall back on manual bank transfers instead, chasing payments by hand rather than collecting them at checkout, or staying behind on version 6.

For years, though, Mollie has been the trusted choice for organizers across the DACH and Benelux regions. It's the provider their accounting, their fees, and their tax setup were built around. So when the time came to move onto our latest platform, these organizers found themselves at a standstill. Migrating to the new version of our platform meant leaving Mollie behind and starting over with a different provider: new fees to work out, a new accounting workflow to learn, tax configuration to redo. All just to unlock a new event experience. For a lot of our community, that wasn't a small ask. It was a real wall that made organizing difficult.

And even where a payment did go through, we heard about a second, quieter frustration: a refund that looked complete on the organizer's side, but never actually reached the participant. Trust is hard-won in events. It shouldn't be undone by a payment screen.

Meanwhile, on the attendee side, a different kind of friction was costing organizers real money. Ask any organizer running events for Dutch or Belgian audiences, and they'll tell you: if iDEAL or Bancontact isn't an option, plenty of attendees simply won't reach for a card. They'll register, fully intending to pay, and then quietly fall back on a manual bank transfer, or forget to pay entirely. Weeks later, an organiser is still chasing invoices for an event that has already concluded.

Bringing the payment experience up to speed.

So we rebuilt the payment experience around what organizers actually needed. Freedom to keep the provider they trust, and a checkout that meets attendees on their own terms.

Organizers using Mollie can now bring their existing account straight over: same access token, same profile, same accounting and tax setup they've always had. There's nothing to renegotiate and nothing to start over.

Connecting takes a couple of minutes in Event settings → Integrations, and from there, Mollie sits alongside Stripe as a fully supported option. You simply choose the one that fits your event.

Once connected, the checkout experience does the rest. Whatever payment methods you've already enabled with your provider now show up automatically at checkout, whether that's iDEAL and Bancontact through Mollie, or card and Google Pay through Stripe, and a good deal more besides depending on your attendees' country or currency.

There's nothing extra to configure inside b2match and no separate toggles to hunt down. Attendees click "Pay online," land on your provider's secure checkout page, and pick whichever method feels most natural to them. For iDEAL and Bancontact users, that often means their own banking app: paid in seconds, from a phone, without ever touching a card number.

Everything downstream stays just as familiar. Your VAT calculations, invoices, promo codes, and payment approval workflows all keep working exactly as they do today, whichever provider is behind the scenes.

Restoring trust in refunds.

We also went back and fixed the refund issue we mentioned earlier. Refunds on Mollie payments now genuinely reach the participant. The request goes through to Mollie properly, and a credit note is generated automatically. If you've issued a refund on a Mollie payment recently, it's worth a quick check with your attendee to make sure the money landed. Peace of mind is worth the extra minute.

Why does this matter?

This is available now to organizers with the Payment Processing feature on their plan, using either Mollie or Stripe as their connected provider (one provider per event). If you're not sure whether your plan includes it, your customer success contact can confirm in a moment.

Fewer unpaid invoices, fewer awkward follow-up emails, and a payment setup that finally works the way you already do. Head to Event settings → Integrations to connect your provider and see the difference at your next event.
