Give your attendees the networking they actually want!

Networking is the heartbeat of B2B events. But too often, it turns into a waiting game. Participants send requests, hope for a reply, and frequently end up with a schedule full of whoever happened to be available, rather than the people they truly wanted to meet.
For organizers running structured programs, this uncertainty can make or break the event's reputation. That is why we are introducing a second booking mode to b2match: Preference-based meeting generation.
Instead of chasing, your attendees curate. Instead of guessing, the platform optimizes. Here is what is new, and how it helps you deliver better connections.
Rank, don't request.
With the classic Direct Requests mode, participants must proactively browse, send out meeting requests, and then wait for confirmations. Our new Preference-based mode flips this entirely!
Attendees now build a simple, ranked list of the people they most want to meet with #1 being their strongest preference. They can reorder their list by dragging and dropping, making it effortless to express exactly who matters most to them. When the preference stage closes, the system automatically generates an optimized meeting schedule around real availability and mutual interest.

For participants, this means no more back-and-forth and no more empty calendar anxiety. For you, it means a much higher chance that every slot on the agenda holds real value.
Mutual interest, automatically prioritized.
Not all matches are equal, and your attendees deserve to know who is genuinely keen to meet them.
Throughout the preference stage, participants see helpful signals, like a "Mutual interest" badge when someone they picked also picks them back. The generator uses these signals to prioritize mutual matches first, ensuring the resulting schedule is built on reciprocal interest rather than random availability. Participants can also filter the participant directory to instantly see everyone who wants to meet them—removing the guesswork entirely.
This way, attendees invest their time wisely and gain trust in the quality of your matchmaking process right from the start.
Once the preference stage has closed, you can review how your participants are progressing and click Generate meetings to automatically build the schedule, taking into account both preferences and availability.

You stay in the driver's seat.
We know that control is non-negotiable for event organizers, especially for hosted-buyer programmes and VIP events where expectations are high. That is why generated meetings are prepared behind the scenes, hidden from participants until you are ready. You can review the full schedule, edit individual meetings, or re-generate the schedule entirely with a single click. Nothing goes live until you hit Publish. Every generated meeting is clearly labelled so you know exactly why it exists, whether it was a "Mutual match" or a "One-way preference." This makes it easy to explain your networking strategy to sponsors, stakeholders, and VIPs alike.

Why does this matter?
A well-structured networking experience is just as foundational as a smooth registration flow. It sets expectations, builds confidence, and determines whether attendees leave with meaningful business relationships or just a stack of business cards.
Preference-based generation removes the dreaded "pending request" fatigue and replaces it with a curated, high-impact experience. It transforms networking from a self-service free-for-all into a strategic tool that delivers fuller calendars, stronger connections, and happier participants—exactly what structured events need to succeed.
The Preference-based Meeting Generator is now available in all newly created events with Professional Plus or higher-tier licenses, or with the Meeting Generator add-on.
