Augšdaugava taste journey
About
1. Challenges in project execution:
Key challenges include ensuring consistent visitor flow beyond the high season, building strong digital visibility for a small rural destination, and coordinating joint marketing and logistics among multiple small SMEs. Developing and maintaining the online booking and payment system may require additional technical expertise and training. Another challenge is engaging our younger generation – our children who are also the future business successors – to take part in experience sharing, product development and innovation, ensuring long-term resilience and continuity of local traditions.
2. Additional support from TASTE could address:
With additional support, we could scale up the “hub-and-partners” model to include new entrepreneurs and young successors, expand cross-border cooperation (e.g. with similar culinary regions in Italy or Slovenia), and develop advanced digital storytelling tools such as virtual tours or multilingual content. Joint training and mentoring with other TASTE partners could strengthen green certification, circular food practices, and sustainable product diversification — helping us reach European markets and build a resilient, future-oriented rural gastronomic tourism model.
