Biosasun is a Spanish agri-food company based in Dicastillo, Navarra, founded in 2001. It specializes in the production of organic and functional foods, with a strong focus on sustainability, health, and technological innovation. Its flagship product is extra virgin olive oil enriched with polyphenols—natural antioxidants with proven health benefits.
Biosasun cultivates 28 hectares of native Arróniz olive trees using environmentally respectful agricultural methods. The company integrates circular economy principles into its processes by transforming by-products from the olive oil industry and other agro-waste into new, value-added products. Its offerings include gourmet olive oils, fermented beverages like kefir and kombucha, and other functional foods developed in collaboration with partners such as the Allotarra Association and Lurederra Technology Center.

PROMETEA (2022–2024)
Led by Biosasun and funded by the Government of Navarra, PROMETEA developed solutions to reduce complications from pressure ulcers in immobilized patients. The project involved UPNA, CNTA, DomusVi, Lurederra, and others. It focused on ozonated oils, melatonin-enriched drinks, fermented functional foods, and antiseptic nanoparticles for textiles and surfaces., IGUZKITZA (2024–2026)
This ongoing project addresses olive production challenges due to climate change, such as solar stress and water scarcity. It explores the reuse of waste like paper sludge and wastewater, solar panel installations for shading and power generation, and automation in irrigation.
