Tales of honey - A sustainable journey from hive to taste
About
The project "Tales of honey – Storytelling and sustainability from production to Taste" aims to strengthen the economic resilience and digital visibility of a small-scale, sustainable honey supply chain led by the social cooperative “Cooperativa Amico” and its b&b "Locanda del priore" in Almese (Piedmont, Italy), with the collaboration of “Distilleria Erboristica Alpina”, which produces liqueurs and spirits with local raw materials from the same area. Through immersive narrative and experiential tourism offer, the project connects honey production, community values, and circular local economies. The initiative focuses on three strategic goals:
-Map and narrate the artisanal honey and honey-liqueur production process, from beekeeping to tasting;
-Diversify promotional and sales channels to support local products and expand their reach;
-Design and test accessible tourist experiences combining storytelling, tasting, and visits to “Locanda del Priore”, the apiary, and the distillery. Activities include:
-Mapping the "Miele più che buono" supply chain, collecting data, visuals and narratives across the sites of production and transformation; -Strategic consulting on marketing and canne diversification, including e-commerce, short food supply networks and rural tourism circuits;
-Designing a catalogue of thematic experiences combining storytelling, local gastronomy and place-based identity;
- Producing immersive digital content for the website: a photo series with product datasheets, an emotional video on the life of the hive and the community around it, and digital infographics tracing the journey "from blossom to jar" and "from blossom to bottle". The final deliverable is a coherent package of narrative and operational tools to promote experiential honey tourism:
-A marketing strategy tailored to small-scale local production;
-Digital contents;
-A tourist experience catalogue.
