Collaboration Wanted: Socio-Spatial Urban Expertise for European Projects in Brussels (PARTICIPATION-02)
Coordinator Alive at Alive
Belgium
About
Alive is a Brussels-based socio-spatial design agency with extensive experience in European cooperation projects. We have led three Creative Europe-funded projects and regularly collaborate with local NGOs, public authorities, and grassroots organizations in Brussels and across Europe.
Our practice focuses on the transformation of public space in vulnerable urban neighborhoods through inclusive, participatory, and site-specific approaches. Working at the intersection of architecture, social design, and spatial practice, we develop projects that combine socio-spatial research, community engagement, and hands-on spatial interventions.
Founded in 2010, Alive brings together architects, social designers, and spatial designers who share a strong commitment to co-creation and local empowerment. In every project, we start from an in-depth analysis of existing social and spatial dynamics and actively involve residents and local stakeholders throughout the entire process — from research and design to implementation and evaluation.
For the NEB matchmaking event, we are looking to connect with European partners interested in developing collaborative projects aligned with the New European Bauhaus values, particularly around inclusive public space, social innovation, civic engagement, and sustainable urban transformation. We are open to joining existing consortia or co-developing new project proposals where our socio-spatial expertise and Brussels-based implementation capacity can add strong value.
