REGEN-01 | Bioclimatic design, bio-based materials and vernacular strategies for thermal comfort

ACEAA – Association for the Study and Innovation in Architecture – is a New European Bauhaus Community Partner based in Spain and is seeking to join a consortium preparing a proposal for HORIZON-NEB-2026-01-REGEN-01 – Sustainable, inclusive, affordable and beautiful solutions for thermal comfort in buildings.

Our expertise lies at the intersection of architecture, bioclimatic design, low-impact construction, bio-based materials, vernacular knowledge and user-centred spatial design.

We can contribute to tasks related to:

• passive and bioclimatic design strategies;

• vernacular and traditional construction knowledge;

• earth construction and bio-based materials;

• climate-responsive architectural design;

• integration of nature-based solutions;

• low-impact and resource-efficient construction;

• user-centred and participatory design;

• architectural demonstrators and pilot environments;

• design quality, aesthetics and NEB integration;

• communication, dissemination and knowledge transfer.

ACEAA is particularly interested in approaches that combine contemporary innovation with traditional low-energy construction knowledge, local materials and climate-responsive design principles.

We can complement partners specialising in building physics, energy modelling, materials science and engineering by contributing architectural, cultural, experiential and design perspectives.

We are interested in contributing as a project partner and Task Leader in areas related to architectural design, participatory processes, demonstrators, materials-related design research and NEB integration.
