Looking for a partner who can connect innovative neighbourhood research with real planning practice?

Vita projekt is a Croatian spatial and environmental planning consultancy working directly with cities and municipalities of very different sizes and spatial contexts – from major urban areas to small towns and rural municipalities.

Our strength is not only knowing how neighbourhoods are planned, but knowing them through practice: their spatial structures, green infrastructure, public spaces, planning constraints, environmental pressures, governance arrangements, local stakeholders and implementation challenges.

For HORIZON-NEB-2026-01-PARTICIPATION-02, we can help a consortium turn an innovative spatial design methodology into something that can be tested, compared, adapted and eventually embedded in real planning practice.

We can contribute through:

• access to and cooperation with Croatian cities and municipalities, including the possibility of identifying a suitable urban, peri-urban or smaller-town demonstration neighbourhood;

• GIS-based spatial analysis and neighbourhood diagnostics;

• green infrastructure, nature-based solutions, climate resilience and circular management of space and buildings;

• analysis of public spaces, spatial inequalities, accessibility and environmental pressures;

• participatory planning, stakeholder engagement and co-creation with local communities;

• translating research and design results into spatial planning recommendations, strategies, measures and implementable local actions;

• testing transferability across neighbourhoods and settlements with very different spatial, demographic and governance conditions.

We see our role as a bridge between research, design and local implementation: bringing real neighbourhoods and planning challenges into the research process, and ensuring that the resulting approaches can return to cities as usable planning tools.
