UNIGE partner for low-carbon buildings and urban energy systems

University of Genoa

About

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Genoa (UNIGE) offers expertise in low-carbon solutions for buildings and districts, renewable energy systems (including photovoltaic integration), energy efficiency, low-temperature heating and cooling networks, and modelling and simulation of thermal and urban energy systems.

The department has experience in European programmes, including Interreg projects such as ENERcMed, focused on Renewable Energy Communities (RECs) and the integration of Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) to support local energy transition and climate resilience.

UNIGE is interested in contributing to consortia preparing Horizon Europe Mission proposals related to the transition of multi-apartment buildings to low-temperature heating solutions, climate adaptation of the built environment and cultural heritage, and circular approaches in the construction sector at building and city scale.

Stage

  • Drafting - writing the project proposal
  • Completing the consortia

Topic

  • HORIZON-MISS-2026-01-CLIMA-05: Demonstrating solutions to protect and preserve cultural heritage from the impacts of climate change
