About

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Genoa provides expertise in renewable energy systems, including photovoltaic technologies, low-carbon solutions for buildings and districts, energy efficiency, district heating and cooling, and modelling and simulation of thermal and energy systems for low-carbon buildings and urban energy networks. The department has applied research experience in European programmes, including Interreg initiatives such as ENERcMed, with a focus on Renewable Energy Communities (RECs) and the integration of Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) to support local energy transition and climate resilience.
