My organisation
La storica proprietà denominata Masseria Battifarano è collocata sulla costa ionica della Basilicata, in una porzione d’Italia fin dall’antichità famosa per la fertilità del terreno.
La Masseria appartiene da più di cinque secoli alla famiglia da cui prende il nome e conserva uno dei più importanti archivi rurali del territorio, riordinato e catalogato dalla Sovrintendenza ai beni archivistici della Basilicata, testimonianza dell’evoluzione agricola del territorio nonché della storia e degli scambi culturali svoltisi.
L’azienda si sviluppa su una superficie agricola di 100 ettari circa e produce prevalentemente uva da vino, olive da olio, frutta e peperoni, avvalendosi delle tecniche agricole più moderne, sostenibili, integrate, conservative ed a basso impatto ambientale e trasforma, in filiera completa, le uve prodotte in pregiati vini certificati a marchio Matera DOC e Basilicata IGT.
About me
I am the owner of Battifarano Winery, a family estate rooted in the heart of Magna Graecia, near Matera (UNESCO site).
We produce DOC and IGT wines that reflect the authenticity of Southern Italy, combining native grapes like Primitivo and Greco with international varieties.
Our winery is structured to handle both production and direct commercial relations, with a growing presence in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the USA, China and Eastern Europe.
We’re currently investing in digital marketing, sustainable practices and accessible wine tourism to strengthen brand visibility and market penetration.
We’re building long-term partnerships with importers and distributors who believe in quality, identity and storytelling.
Our brand is positioned to serve high-end horeca, boutique wine shops and cultural retailers.
