An Interactive Database of Databases

Bo is not only a platform to discover local producers: it’s also a bridge between ecosystems.

Each producer on Bo, whom we call a Host, can indicate in which other databases, directories, or platforms they are already listed. These external sources are shown clearly on the Host’s profile, with clickable links and official logos, allowing users to explore additional information, book via other systems, or support the Host through their preferred marketplace or network.

We call these external sources Partners, and our goal is to give visibility to all of them, from EU quality schemes and regional certification bodies to cooperatives, marketplace listings, chambers of commerce, and more.

This approach turns Bo into an Interactive Database of Databases, creating:

• A networked ecosystem of trust and visibility for local producers

• A hub for transparency, where users can see all the affiliations and recognitions a producer has

• A connector for platforms, driving traffic and engagement across the rural digital economy

For institutions and GI associations, this means their existing efforts gain additional visibility without duplication. For producers, it reduces the burden of starting from scratch. And for consumers, it creates a richer, more connected discovery experience.

Bo doesn't aim to replace existing systems—it amplifies them, making the rural digital world more open, navigable, and useful for everyone.
