About
The University of Camerino (UNICAM) is a public research university in central Italy, founded in 1336. Its interdisciplinary research spans life and health sciences, environmental and earth sciences, chemistry, technology, architecture, and social sciences. UNICAM supports national and international projects through dedicated research-management structures and is part of the EURAXESS network.
For this matchmaking event, UNICAM is represented by Prof. Antonietta La Terza and the Soil Biodiversity and Monitoring Laboratory within the School of Biosciences and Veterinary Medicine. The team combines field surveys, laboratory bioassays, molecular analyses and functional measurements, with expertise in environmental ecotoxicology, soil and freshwater biodiversity, microbial and protist ecology, eDNA/metabarcoding, multi-taxon bioindicators and plant-soil interactions.
UNICAM can contribute to multidisciplinary consortia by assessing the biological effects of pollutants and land-use pressures, establishing ecological baselines, developing and validating harmonised, cost-effective monitoring protocols and evaluating ecosystem degradation, restoration and resilience. The integration of molecular, organism-level and community-level approaches supports the production of policy-relevant evidence for biodiversity protection, ecosystem restoration and sustainable land management.
