HORIZON-NATURE-2027-02-05: Cost-Effective Soil Biodiversity Monitoring
Associate Professor at University of Camerino
Camerino, Italy
About
We are looking to join a multidisciplinary consortium as a research partner under Area B of HORIZON-NATURE-2027-02-05, addressing soil biodiversity monitoring for the implementation of the Soil Monitoring Law.
UNICAM integrates DNA metabarcoding and microbial and protist profiling with QBS-ar, QBS-e and functional soil indicators. We can contribute to comparing and validating complementary methods, optimising sampling effort and indicator sensitivity, and linking molecular, taxonomic and functional evidence.
Our experience can support harmonised protocols, improved reference information for soil protists, and cost-effective monitoring workflows across different land uses, protected areas and agroecosystems.
We are interested in consortia involving national monitoring networks, reference laboratories, bioinformatics and data infrastructures, statisticians, land managers and authorities responsible for soil and biodiversity policies.
