About

Gazda Kontroll Ltd (GK) is a private agricultural consultancy and innovation management company based in Mosonmagyaróvár, Hungary. We support more than 300 farms across all Hungarian regions to improve the sustainability, resilience and profitability of their production. Our work combines administrative expertise, practice-oriented advisory services and farmer-driven innovation. This makes GK a bridge between primary production, advisory systems, research organisations and policy.

Farmer network and advisory base

Our registered advisors cover the full range of Hungarian agriculture. This includes arable crops, horticulture, fruit and grapes, and livestock systems. Daily advisory work covers CAP applications and compliance, nutrient management planning, rotation planning, farm records and support during audits. This close contact with farmers gives us real insight into what drives or blocks change on farms. We also have access to parcel-, farm- and region-level environmental and economic data. These data support evidence-based testing and evaluation in research projects.

Thematic focus

Protein crops and legumes are a core strength. Through our close cooperation with the Hungarian Soybean and Protein Crop Association, where our Manager serves as Vice-President, we reach more than 370 value-chain actors. Legumes are a practical nature-based solution. They fix their own nitrogen, diversify rotations, improve soil structure and support pollinators.

We help farmers manage nutrients responsibly and meet fertiliser rules. This work links directly to circular nutrient use and to reducing nutrient losses to soil and water. We also support soil resilience, sustainable cropping systems and adaptation to climate extremes such as ntensified heatwaves, heavy rainfall, windstorms and temperature anomalies generating extreme land surface conditions—including droughts, flooding, soil erosion, nutrient losses, etc.—pushing agroecosystems towards tipping points.. Our EIP-AGRI work on phacelia connects crop production with ecosystem services for pollinators. Alongside this, we help farmers use farm and parcel data, digital tools and decision support systems, always combined with hands-on advice.

On-farm demonstration and co-creation

We coordinate and host multi-location field demonstrations, on-farm trials and co-creation workshops. Through MSZFE we support five to six large on-farm demonstrations each year, each with more than 50 participants. We also run roadshows, workshops and practical trainings. Our innovation team designs participatory processes that involve farmers from the start. We build Communities of Practice, Living Labs and Knowledge Hubs that strengthen Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation Systems.

Project experience

GK has taken part in EU and international projects (horizon, ERASMUS+) including AGRITECH,WISE-AI, RAMONES, I2Connect, AEDIH, Climate Smart Advisors. We are the coordinator of LEGUMEWISE, an EU wide thematic knowledge hub on protein crops. We have been partners in five EIP-AGRI Operational Groups. Three focus on protein crops and legumes. One addresses climate adaptation in viticulture, and one covers phacelia production and ecosystem services. In these projects we lead multi-actor engagement, demonstration management, farmer mobilisation, dissemination and innovation management.

What we offer to consortia

GK offers access to more than 300 farmers across all Hungarian regions and strong demonstration capacity. We bring deep knowledge of protein crops, climate adaptation and advisory systems. We provide practice-oriented communication and dissemination with strong links to the national agricultural press a ploicy ecosystem. Our solutions are built for Hungarian conditions and designed for scaling across European agro-climatic zones. We are open to partner and work package lead roles in Horizon Europe projects on biodiversity, soil health, circular bioeconomy, nutrient and water management, and protein crops.
