Economic researcher at Prometeia

Bologna, Italy

About

Prometeia combines climate–economy models, spatial damage tools and policy-evaluation expertise to identify and quantify maladaptation risks. We seek to join a D1-10 consortium as the quantitative partner for economic and distributional assessment and for the design of screening indicators.

Description – We offer

·         Integrated climate–economy and sectoral models able to represent different adaptation pathways and their macro, sectoral and regional impacts over time.

·         High-resolution physical-impact and damage tools to estimate losses under alternative adaptation choices, including lock-ins and path dependencies.

·         Distributional analysis capabilities to assess who gains and who loses from specific adaptation measures (households, regions, sectors).

·         Experience in designing risk and resilience metrics and simple decision-support indicators for public authorities and financial institutions.

Description – We are looking for

·         A coordinator with strong expertise in adaptation research and practice (e.g. university, research institute, national authority).

·         Partners contributing climate science, engineering, land-use and social-science perspectives on adaptation and maladaptation.

·         Stakeholder partners (regions, cities, utilities, investors) providing real-world cases of adaptation planning and implementation.

Preferred role

Prometeia would act as a core modelling and impact-assessment partner, leading or co-leading a work package on economic and distributional analysis, while not assuming the overall coordination role.
