Secondary biomass flows and sustainable resource allocation for a circular bioeconomy

Expert at Institute of Technology and Life Sciences

Poznań, Poland

About

ITP-PIB is interested in developing a POLNORIS project addressing the sustainable use of secondary biomass resources and organic residual streams within the circular bioeconomy. The project concept builds on a systemic perspective linking biomass availability and flows with alternative utilisation pathways, cascading use and resource allocation.

The scope is intentionally open to joint development with the project partner. Depending on complementary expertise, cooperation could include biomass-flow mapping and characterisation, assessment of alternative utilisation pathways, integrated biorefinery concepts, environmental and economic assessment, logistics, cascading use, resource-allocation approaches, or decision-support methods.

ITP-PIB can contribute expertise in agricultural and agro-food biomass, biomass and organic residue flows, systemic bioeconomy approaches, cascading use, integrated biorefineries and sustainable resource allocation.

We are looking for a research organisation from Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein with complementary expertise and an interest in jointly shaping a competitive applied research project. Particular interest is placed on cooperation that can translate research results into practical approaches, tools or knowledge supporting public administration, industry and other non-academic stakeholders.
