HempCascade – Circular Valorisation of Industrial Hemp

Vivende is developing HempCascade, an integrated R&D concept focused on the sustainable and cascade valorisation of industrial hemp biomass.

The project aims to create a complete value chain starting from sustainable cultivation and biomass characterisation, through separation and processing of individual hemp fractions, to the development of high-value products and applications.

Potential research areas include:

• sustainable and climate-resilient hemp cultivation,

• biomass characterisation and fractionation,

• extraction of bioactive compounds,

• protein and feed fractions,

• fibre and lignocellulosic applications,

• biodegradable materials and growing substrates,

• circular use of residual biomass,

• environmental and life-cycle assessment,

• digital traceability and decision-support systems,

• AI-based prediction of biomass quality and optimal processing routes.

We are looking for Norwegian universities, research institutes and technology organisations with expertise in bioeconomy, biotechnology, biomass processing, food/feed science, circular economy, environmental assessment or digital agriculture.

Vivende can contribute project coordination, industrial and agricultural use cases, field validation, technology integration and commercialization activities.
