Circular Valorization of Jute Coffee Sacks

Sustainability Lead at COFFEE IS INCAPTO SL

Barcelona, Spain

About

INCAPTO generates jute sacks from green coffee transport. Currently, these materials represent a bottleneck in terms of circular management and valorization.
This challenge aims to explore innovative solutions to reuse, transform, or valorize jute sacks through circular economy approaches. Solutions may include material reuse, upcycling, recycling, or bio-based applications, considering technical feasibility, environmental impact, scalability, and alignment with real operational constraints. Early-stage ideas, prototypes, or emerging technologies suitable for pilots or proofs of concept are encouraged.

The expected outcome is the identification and validation of circular solutions that reduce waste and maximize the value of jute sacks. INCAPTO aims to test promising approaches through pilots or PoCs, generating environmental and operational insights. In the mid-term, successful solutions could lead to new circular material flows, reduced disposal impacts, and potential new business or collaboration opportunities within the coffee value chain.
