Digital Traceability and Impact Measurement of Reusable Logistics Boxes

INCAPTO has implemented reusable, ultra-resistant PP corrugated boxes to optimize its internal logistics and reduce waste. Each box can complete up to 48 cycles over two years. Barcodes have already been generated for these boxes at the Ripollet facility; however, the tracking process is currently manual and not scalable due to high picking demand.
This challenge aims to explore digital solutions that enable automated traceability, lifecycle tracking, and impact measurement of reusable boxes, integrating seamlessly into daily logistics operations and supporting early-stage pilots or proofs of concept.

The expected outcome is a scalable digital system capable of tracking reuse cycles and quantifying the environmental impact of reusable boxes (waste avoided, material savings, CO₂ reduction). INCAPTO seeks to validate the solution through a PoC or pilot, reducing operational workload while improving data reliability. In the mid-term, the solution should support decision-making, internal efficiency, and transparent communication of circular logistics impact, as well as enable future expansion to additional reusable formats.
