About
Orbello is a young and versatile Nebbiolo produced in Upper Piedmont, from vineyards located in the Sella estate in the township of Cerreto Castello.
Characterised by a distinct drinkability, it is an eloquent and territorial expression of Nebbiolo, flowing with balance and clarity on the palate while preserving the freshness of the fruit and the elegance that defines all our wines.
The vineyards are situated on hillsides between 270 and 350 metres above sea level, with southwest and southeast exposure. The vines, with an average age of 45 years, are trained using the traditional Guyot system and grow on pH-acid soils composed of kaolin clay.
The wine is made from 100% Nebbiolo. After destemming and crushing, fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks with pumping over and rack and return, followed by an average maceration of 20 days. Malolactic fermentation occurs in correspondence with alcoholic fermentation.
The wine is then aged in medium-toasted French oak, in both large casks and barriques.
Thanks to its balance and freshness, Orbello offers an immediate and versatile expression, with ageing potential of over 10 years.
