Barbera d'Asti DOCG Superiore "Lorenzo"

This Barbera is a refined expression of our estate and of the character of Costigliole d’Asti. Made from 100% Barbera grapes grown on sandy, clayey, tufaceous and calcareous soils, it comes from vines averaging 20 to 30 years of age, trained in the traditional Piedmont Guyot system. After careful selection and harvesting, the grapes are gently crushed and fermented in stainless steel at a controlled temperature of 28–29°C, with submerged-cap maceration to enhance depth and structure. The wine is then aged for at least 24 months in 225-litre French oak barrels from Allier, where it develops richness, balance and elegance. In the glass, it shows a garnet red colour tending towards brick. The nose is marked by vanilla, with notes of licorice and almond, while the palate is full, austere and well-balanced, with a long vanilla finish. It pairs beautifully with roasts, braised dishes and game meats, and is best served at 18–20°C, ideally opened at least one hour before serving.
