UK–Singapore Partnership for Vacuum-Buoyancy Aerospace Platforms

Vauxminster Aeronautics is seeking Singapore companies and research organisations interested in establishing a long-term strategic partnership around the development and commercialisation of vacuum-buoyancy aerospace platforms.

Our patented technology replaces helium or hydrogen with a lightweight structural vacuum, creating the potential for persistent, solar-electric aircraft with applications spanning HAPS and NTN communications, sensing, environmental monitoring, defence, maritime operations, near-space testing, and, longer-term, heavy-lift aviation.

Our immediate objective is to advance the technology through physical manufacture, structural and vacuum testing, subsystem integration, and ultimately flight demonstration. Our current roadmap envisages a 12–15 m demonstrator, initially undertaking tethered testing before progressing to powered flight and endurance testing.

For the UK–Singapore Collaborative R&D programme, we are particularly interested in partners with complementary capabilities in advanced composite structures, precision aerospace manufacturing, materials and barrier films, structural testing, 5G/6G and NTN communications, RF and sensing payloads, autonomous systems, solar-electric power, systems integration and aerospace testing.

We envisage a genuinely collaborative programme in which Vauxminster contributes its patented vacuum-buoyancy architecture and aircraft development expertise. In contrast,e Singapore partners contribute technologies, manufacturing capabilities, systems or applications that can be incorporated into the development programme.

An initial collaborative R&D project could focus on one or more critical subsystems rather than requiring the complete aircraft to be developed within a single programme. This could include manufacture and testing of representative vacuum-loaded structures, advanced composite components, payload integration, communications demonstrations or other technologies required for a future flight demonstrator.

Beyond the immediate R&D programme, we are interested in building relationships that could lead to joint technology development, demonstration, commercialisation and access to Asia-Pacific markets.

Our objective is not simply to find a supplier, but to identify Singapore partners who want to help create a new class of persistent, zero-emission aircraft.
