El Brogit, founded in 2006, is a local guiding company and legal travel agency (GC-4306) specializing in Ecotourism and Enotourism in Southern Catalonia. We focus on slow, responsible tourism, promoting the natural and cultural heritage of regions like Priorat, Terra Alta, Penedès, and the Prades Mountains. We work across three main fields: 1\. Tourism and Travel Agency: We provide an integral service, organizing customized guided and self-guided holidays that go beyond the activity, managing all reservations including accommodations, transport, and tastings at local cellars and olive oil mills. We serve both local/international clients (B2C) and other agencies/tour operators (B2B). Our products often combine walking/hiking with agro-food experiences (e.g., Trek&Wine). 2\. Consultancy (Territorial and Environmental): Active since 2013, this division specializes in providing technical assessment for the creation of sustainable tourism products and projects of structuring and signposting ancient bridle path networks. This work requires Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and environmental cartography. We also participate in field work and associated GIS cartography for engineering companies. 3\. Digital Innovation and Gamification: With the partners of Ludi Artis, we apply game mechanics (gamification) and narratives to create immersive, digital experiences (e.g., serious games, VR, digital routes) at heritage sites, facilitating learning and promoting positive behavior change. 4.We lead and participate in European projects focused on sustainable and regenerative tourism, gamification and environmental awareness.

About me

I am Meritxell Omella Aznar, a licensed biologist and a passionate advocate for regenerative, slow tourism in Catalonia.

I am the founder and guide of El Brogit (established 2006), a specialized ecotourism and enotourism travel agency (GC-4306) that focuses on Southern Catalonia. I combine guiding tours with comprehensive travel planning, managing accommodations, tastings, and logistics for both local and international clients.

My scientific expertise in Biology and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) allows me to deeply understand the landscape, which is crucial for my parallel work in territorial consulting, including the exploration, restoration, and signaling of ancient bridle path networks and environmental analysis. I speak fluent English and German.

Furthermore, I collaborate with partners specialised in applying gamification and digital tools to non-ludic environments, using games and immersive narratives (like VR) to motivate positive behavior change and facilitate the learning and discovery of heritage and agro-food culture.

This unique blend of ecological rigor and digital innovation is what I bring to European projects like the EU Taste initiative, Terra Mellifera, where I lead the pioneering transformation of apitourism in the Prades Mountains into a resilient, "hive-to-palate" experience. I am committed to supporting the small, family producers of high-quality local products, from wine and olive oil to honey.
