1. Challenges in project execution

Key challenges include ensuring a consistent supply of sustainably farmed huchen, synchronizing collaboration between creative, digital, and tourism partners, and maintaining high production quality within limited SME resources. Developing professional 360° video storytelling and integrating VR technology into visitor experiences require technical expertise and equipment that may exceed current in-house capacity. Finally, scaling the concept beyond the pilot phase demands efficient logistics and alignment among hospitality stakeholders.

2. Opportunities with additional TASTE support

With additional TASTE support, the project could scale from a single-site pilot to a network of “Huchen Table” experiences across Slovenia and partner countries. This would include developing multilingual VR content, enhancing digital booking integration, and expanding collaboration with other European artisans or sustainable food producers. Jointly with a TASTE partner abroad, we could co-create a cross-border “River-to-Table” experience, linking river heritage, gastronomy, and digital storytelling as a replicable European model for sustainable tourism.
