About
Deploy an intelligent camera-based monitoring system to identify, count, and analyze traffic and vehicles (type and environmental label), while studying user special needs to enhance accessibility and gender perspective. The system should also enable Service Areas to be more habitable for pets traveling with their owners, improving overall safety and comfort.
Goals:
Improved operational efficiency and management of Service Areas.
Detailed environmental data to support sustainable policies.
Enhanced user trust and safety and security perception, especially for vulnerable groups; Implementation of gender-sensitive security measures.
Enhanced safety, security and accessibility for all users, including vulnerable groups.
Promotion of pet-friendly spaces with monitoring and support for coexistence with domestic animals.
Strengthened privacy protection aligned with ethical standards for all users.
Scalable system adaptable to diverse user needs and social contexts.
Needs;
Install smart cameras with real-time recognition of traffic and activity within the Service Area.
Classify vehicles by type and environmental label.
Analyze user behavior and needs, prioritizing accessibility and gender perspective.
Monitor presence and conditions for domestic animals, fostering a safe and pet-friendly environment.
Provide actionable data and indicators to support decision-making for better security, management and improvement of Service Areas.
Objectives:
Deploy cameras with real-time image recognition and advanced analytics.
Vehicle mobility:
Identify and classify vehicles by type and environmental label.
Detect activity and occupancy patterns within the Service Area.
Provide structured data to support service planning and optimization.
Enhance the feeling of security through effective technological presence for drivers and vehicle occupants.
Gender Perspective:
Integrate gender-sensitive indicators in data collection and reporting.
Use findings to adapt security measures ensuring equal safety for all genders.
Accessibility:
Ensure system design accounts for people with physical and sensory disabilities (e.g., clear signage, audible alerts, and visual cues).
Incorporate features that assist neurodivergent individuals, such as minimizing sensory overload from alerts or signals.
Promote pet-friendliness by monitoring and accommodating the presence of pets, ensuring safe and comfortable shared spaces for all users.
Inclusive Data Analysis:
Analyse data to detect potential safety and security risks specific to vulnerable groups.
Monitor patterns that could indicate gender-based safety concerns or harassment risks.
Privacy and Ethics:
Guarantee that monitoring respects personal privacy, especially for vulnerable populations.
Engage with community stakeholders to align system deployment with social values and inclusivity goals.
Additional Objectives:
Detect and count pets (dogs, cats, etc.) within the Service Area to monitor animal presence and behavior.
Technology Requirements:
Animal Detection:
AI-enabled cameras trained to recognize common pets and differentiate them from humans and vehicles.
Real-time pet counting and behavior analysis to detect unusual situations (e.g., loose pets or distress).
Expected Outcomes:
Enhanced security, safety and hygiene by monitoring pet presence.
Data to support pet-friendly services and infrastructure improvements.
Early detection of lost or stray animals, improving response times.
