Communications at CIMALSA
Barcelona, Spain
About
Develop an intelligent system to monitor mobility and behavior of bus station users, including person counting and service usage analysis with disaggregation by gender, age, and physical disability. The system should analyze mobility patterns, perceived safety, and adapt communication and advertising media to diverse audiences, ensuring inclusion and accessibility.
Goals:
Detailed understanding of usage and mobility patterns at bus stations.
Improved accessibility and service for people with physical disabilities.
Optimized service points and communication strategies based on real users.
Increased perception of safety, especially for vulnerable groups.
Scalable and replicable system for other stations and similar environments.
Strict compliance with privacy and data protection regulations.
Needs:
Improve understanding of passenger flows to optimize service and resource planning.
Ensure inclusion and accessibility by addressing the specific needs of people with physical disabilities.
Address perceived security from a gender perspective to protect all users.
Optimize communication and advertising by adapting to the real profiles of users.
Ensure respect for privacy and compliance with current data protection regulations.
Objective:
Count people in bus stations using non-intrusive technology.
Track usage of ticket machines, vending machines, and retail points (cafeterias, convenience stores).
Monitor occupancy of indoor waiting areas (“glass box”).
Obtain disaggregated data by gender, age, and physical disability, aggregated by day and hour.
Analyze specific mobility patterns and accessibility needs.
Study perceived safety and security by gender and user profile.
Adapt advertising media and messages to target diverse audiences, improving effectiveness and inclusion.
