About
The University Group on Identification Technologies (GUTI) at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid provides advanced solutions in the field of Identity Management, covering technologies from secure ID cards to biometric identification systems. The group has extensive experience participating in national and European projects such as eEpoch and BioSec, and offers expertise across the full lifecycle of identification technologies, including research, evaluation, consultancy, management support, training, dissemination, and standardization.
The technological offer is based on a multidisciplinary approach that integrates smart cards, cryptography, and biometric technologies. GUTI develops biometric solutions in-house using advanced modalities such as iris recognition, fingerprint, hand geometry, and hand vein analysis, as well as multimodal biometric systems that increase reliability and robustness. The group also actively contributes to international standardization activities in identification technologies and has significant experience assessing the functionality and security of identification systems using internationally recognized methodologies.
These capabilities enable organizations to deploy secure, reliable, and standards-aligned identification solutions suitable for real-world operational environments. The combination of technical development, evaluation expertise, and standardization knowledge provides added value for institutions seeking trustworthy identity management systems.
Collaboration sought:
Technical Cooperation Agreements, Joint Ventures, or Commercial Agreements with technical assistance are sought with companies or R&D institutions interested in applying identification technologies in real-world scenarios, developing joint R&D activities, or integrating GUTI’s identification and biometric solutions into their systems or services.
