NERONE²

Produced in the Colli Tortonesi area of Piedmont, this wine is made from 100% Barbera, a native grape variety of the region. The vineyards are located in Mombisaggio, a hamlet of Tortona, on south-west facing calcareous-clayey soils of the “Mombisaggio formation,” exceptionally rich in marine fossils. These fossil-rich soils contribute to the wine’s structure, minerality, and vibrant salinity.

Vines are cultivated without chemical fertilizers, herbicides, or systemic products, following principles of environmental sustainability. Grapes are hand-harvested in the second half of September to ensure optimal ripeness and careful selection.

In the winery, grapes are de-stemmed and fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wine remains on its fine lees for approximately five months to enhance texture, complexity, and aromatic depth, then continues ageing for 12 months in oak barrels. No filtration or clarification is applied, preserving the wine’s authenticity and full expression.

Ageing is completed with at least 3 months in bottle before release.

In the glass, the wine shows an intense ruby color with violet highlights. The nose offers aromas of sour cherry and blueberry, complemented by subtle herbal and spicy notes. The palate is concentrated, fruity, and enveloping, supported by good acidity and a structure that reflects both the Barbera grape and the mineral-rich terroir of Mombisaggio.
