Photometric and radiometric laboratory for research in light and lighting

The Lighting, Color and Radiation Laboratory at DTU Electro is a research and measurement facility focused on optical metrology in the visible and near-visible range. The laboratory has contributed to the transition from conventional lighting technologies to LED lighting by providing the measurement science needed to evaluate new light sources, materials, and lighting systems. Its work supports reliable characterization, quality assessment, and the development of better lighting solutions with improved energy performance and lighting quality. By combining rigorous laboratory methods with application-oriented research, the lab contributes to innovation in lighting technology and to a more sustainable built environment. Based at DTU Risø Campus near Roskilde, it is well positioned for collaborative projects linking measurement, lighting, health, and sustainability.
