Biodiversity Assessment Across Ecosystems

This collaboration opportunity offers expertise in biodiversity assessment using molecular and genomic tools applicable to a wide range of ecological and socio-environmental contexts, including terrestrial, freshwater, marine, agricultural and urban ecosystems.

The expertise covers the design and implementation of DNA barcoding, metabarcoding, environmental DNA (eDNA), and high-throughput sequencing approaches, combined with classical ecological sampling and bioinformatic analysis. These methods can be tailored to assess taxonomic diversity, community composition, functional potential and ecosystem responses to environmental stressors such as land-use change, pollution, climate extremes or restoration interventions.

The collaboration is particularly suited to Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (Doctoral Networks, Postdoctoral Fellowships, COFUND) and supports interdisciplinary research integrating ecology, molecular biology, bioinformatics and environmental sciences. Contributions may include joint project design, methodological development, supervision and training of early-career researchers, data analysis, and co-authored publications.

This expertise is adaptable to diverse research questions and geographical settings and aligns strongly with MSCA priorities on training-through-research, international mobility, Open Science and societal impact, including applications in conservation, environmental monitoring, sustainability and evidence-based decision making.
