About

The proposed project seeks to build a long-term international collaboration framework under the HORIZON-MSCA-2026-SE-01-01 call, promoting staff mobility and knowledge exchange between academic institutions, research centres and industrial partners.

The scientific programme will be structured around three interconnected pillars:

  1. Sustainable and Circular Textile Systems
Development of advanced mechanical and chemical recycling processes, bio-based fibres, natural dyes, and life-cycle assessment (LCA) methodologies to reduce environmental impact and promote circularity.

  2. Advanced Textile Functionalisation
Implementation of eco-efficient finishing technologies such as plasma treatment, ozone processing, nano-deposition and microencapsulation to produce multifunctional and environmentally responsible textiles.

  3. Technical and Smart Textiles
Design and development of medical, protective and sensor-integrated textiles incorporating smart functionalities, energy harvesting systems and digital traceability solutions.

The project will enable structured secondments of researchers, engineers and technical staff, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, joint supervision of early-stage researchers, shared use of research infrastructures, and co-publications.

Through this cooperation, the consortium aims to strengthen Euro-Mediterranean research links, enhance industrial competitiveness, and contribute to the transition toward climate-neutral and high-value-added textile systems.
