AI-assisted Holistic Risk Assessment
About
Our research group is interested in joining Horizon Europe consortia developing trustworthy artificial intelligence frameworks that support integrated decision-making in primary healthcare.
Primary care professionals increasingly face patients presenting with multiple interacting health problems rather than isolated diseases. Cardiovascular risk, metabolic disorders, sleep disturbances, mental health symptoms, musculoskeletal complaints, unhealthy lifestyles and social determinants frequently coexist, yet current screening approaches remain fragmented and disease-specific.
We are interested in developing AI-supported integrated assessment frameworks capable of combining multidimensional clinical, behavioural and patient-reported information into comprehensive risk profiles that support early detection, personalised prevention and coordinated referral pathways.
Our vision is not to replace clinical judgement but to augment it by enabling healthcare professionals to identify hidden patterns of multimorbidity and intervene before irreversible disease progression occurs. Such systems may integrate structured questionnaires, routine clinical measurements, cardiovascular risk factors, sleep and circadian characteristics, behavioural and lifestyle information, mental health screening, digital health data and patient-reported outcomes into a unified decision-support environment.
Our team contributes expertise in internal medicine, cardiovascular prevention, chronobiology, behavioural epidemiology, lifestyle medicine and questionnaire development. We have experience designing multidimensional health assessment tools, conducting population-based studies and implementing preventive strategies in clinical practice.
We seek collaboration with experts in artificial intelligence, explainable AI, clinical informatics, digital health, electronic health records, implementation science and primary healthcare. Together we aim to develop transparent, clinically meaningful and ethically responsible AI-supported tools that strengthen preventive care and improve patient-centred decision-making.
