About
UNIMI Plant Development & Climate Resilience Research Team
Our team is dedicated to studying plant development and reproduction using a multidisciplinary approach that integrates genetics, cell biology, omics technologies, and structural biology, applied both to model species and crop plants.
We focus on climate resilience and deploy advanced molecular biology strategies, including molecular breeding, CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing, and epigenetic regulation, to enhance crop productivity, improve soil health, and sustainably control plant diseases.
Our research spans from molecular and physiological studies in the laboratory to greenhouse and field-scale trials, ensuring that our innovations respond to the practical needs of farmers and the agroindustry. Through this approach, we aim to contribute to a more resilient and sustainable food production system by promoting biologically-based technologies.
We are currently seeking to join a European research consortium focused on sustainable agriculture, plant biotechnology, or related fields. We are particularly interested in collaborative opportunities that foster knowledge transfer and long-term cooperation across research institutions and sectors.
We combine lab research with field trials, are active in university teaching, and operate in an international academic environment. We have multiple ongoing collaborations with universities and companies, and strong experience in preparing successful project proposals. We are seeking MSCA Staff Exchange partnerships in sustainable agriculture and plant biotechnology.
