About

Dezernat Zukunft is a non-partisan policy institute that aims to explain and develop proposals for monetary, fiscal, and economic policy in an accessible and coherent way.

Our articles and proposals are aimed at political decision-makers, at academics and the media, and the next generation of thinkers and citizens. With our work we aim to broaden public debates and support an inclusive process of political will formation.

Our research priorities for the coming years include: contributing to the development of a new growth model for Germany and Europe, with a focus on innovation, education, and smart industrial policy; monitoring and proposing improvements for Germand and European fiscal policy; and analysing and strengthening Europe's geoeconomic position, inter alia through reducing dollar dependency, increasing points of EU indispensability, and accelerating (in a fiscally sustainable way) EU decarbonisation and energy transition efforts.

    We analyse whether Europe’s green transition creates enough well-paid, unsubsidised jobs, where, and with which skills. Using sectoral projections and firm-level data, we identify labour gaps and derive policy advice for training and regional development.
