Persons with disabilities: labour integration and social protection

SJD Social Innova, the social innovation programme of Fundació Sant Joan de Déu (FSJD), is interested in forming a core group to develop a proposal to this topic. We can contribute real‑world piloting and social innovation expertise focused on labour inclusion and social protection for persons with disabilities. 

SJD Social Innova works directly with persons with disabilities and mental health conditions facing structural barriers to employment, skills development and participation in the open labour market, including: 

• people with intellectual, psychosocial or multiple disabilities, 

• individuals transitioning from education or protected environments to employment, 

• persons facing accessibility, accommodation or support gaps in mainstream workplaces due to mental illness.

Our contribution to the project: 

• Piloting inclusive labour‑market interventions for persons with disabilities in real service and employment settings; 

• Co‑designing person‑centred inclusion pathways with people with disabilities, support professionals, employers and social services; 

• Testing models that link employment participation with social protection, reasonable accommodation and support needs; 

• Contributing practice‑based evidence on reducing employment gaps, improving job quality and supporting sustainable inclusion over the life course.

SJD Social Innova brings access to a network of social, health and employment services, including care providers, support services and employment programmes working directly with persons with disabilities, enabling real‑world validation and transfer of inclusive solutions. 

We aim to strengthen consortia seeking credible implementation capacity, user‑centred innovation and applied evidence to support more inclusive labour‑market and social‑protection policies, rather than project coordination.
