Co-creating Climate-Resilient Urban Heritage through Digital and Community Approaches

Associate Professor at Politecnico di Torino (POLITO)

Turin, Italy

About

I am looking to collaborate on Horizon Europe Cluster 2 proposals addressing the intersection of cultural heritage, climate change, and urban resilience.

My research focuses on heritage as a dynamic resource for climate adaptation, combining urban history, spatial analysis (GIS), and digital humanities to understand how past environmental transformations inform present and future resilience strategies. I work particularly on risk management (e.g. flooding), heritage governance, and community-centred approaches within the Historic Urban Landscape framework.

I am interested in joining or co-developing proposals that explore:

  • Heritage-led climate adaptation and disaster risk reduction

  • Community engagement and co-creation in heritage governance

  • Digital tools (GIS, data platforms, storytelling) for decision-making

  • Climate justice and inclusive approaches to cultural heritage

  • Urban water systems, environmental memory, and long-term transformations

I have experience in Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe projects and interdisciplinary collaboration across heritage, planning, and climate research. I am open to both partner and coordination roles, particularly in projects with strong methodological and societal impact.

I am looking to connect with:

  • Academic and research institutions

  • Cities and public authorities

  • NGOs and community organisations

  • Technical partners (digital tools, data platforms)
