HORIZON-CL2-2026-01-TRANSFO-07: Fostering competences for the green transition

PhD student and R&D lead at Osons+

Bordeaux, France

About

Osons+ is a French mission-driven social enterprise (SSE), recognized as a Young Innovative Company (JEI) by the French Ministry of Research and Innovation. We support organisations, collectives and territories in developing human, relational and collective competences needed for ecological and social transitions, with a lifelong learning perspective spanning young people, workers and retirees.

Our approach is grounded in the Inner Development Goals (IDGs) and focuses on concrete competences such as listening, cooperation, emotional and relational intelligence, creativity, solution-orientation, and the ability to navigate complexity. These skills are cultivated through immersive learning experiences, multi-month transformational journeys, and co-design processes, enabling participants to translate personal and collective insights into sustainable action.

Research is embedded across all Osons+ activities. Our R&D draws on human factors, regenerative leadership, Theory U, facilitation practices and narrative approaches, based on the conviction that understanding cultural dynamics is a key condition for enabling ecological transition. Positioned at the intersection of Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH), organizational transformation, and action research, Osons+ bridges the gap between competences frameworks and the real-life conditions under which competences are developed, activated and sustained.

Operating fields & experience

Osons+ works with organisations facing environmental transition challenges, including private companies, public institutions, social organisations, and operators supporting the ecological transition. This diversity of real-world contexts allows us to conduct pilot projects and interventions with actors directly engaged in sustainability initiatives, while generating structured qualitative and quantitative data on competences, collaboration, trust and agency across varied settings.

This includes a territorial living lab led by our parent organisation Osons Ici et Maintenant (https://osonsicietmaintenant.org/), aimed at collectively redesigning youth policies to foster young people’s agency, self-awareness, and key human and relational capacities for navigating ecological and social challenges ahead.
