HORIZON-CL2-2026-01-TRANSFO-09: Rethinking long-term care policy in the face of EU demographic shifts

Türkiye is experiencing a demographic aging process similar to many EU countries, which makes comparative data and field observations from this context useful for long-term care policy models.

My sociological background is supported by experience in field projects focused on family structures and social support mechanisms. Based on this research background, I can request official administrative data from the Turkish Ministry of Family and Social Services—the primary public authority managing elderly and family welfare—and help facilitate communication with relevant local stakeholders for research purposes.

I can contribute to the project through the following tasks:

• Fieldwork and Data Collection: Organizing and conducting interviews, focus groups, or surveys with caregivers and care-recipients to collect first-hand data on informal care experiences.

• Family and Informal Care Analysis: Analyzing how family networks handle care transitions and evaluating the social aspects of integrating digital tools into daily care routines.

• Intersectional Evaluation: Using qualitative and quantitative methods to look at how gender, age, and socioeconomic background affect access to social services.

• Policy Input: Assisting in translating field findings into practical recommendations for local and regional social service providers.
