About
A core research team from our Italian network is currently working on multispectral imaging (NDVI), air quality sensing (PM and NOx), and the integration of advanced hardware and software to improve the built environment of European neighbourhoods. I have included a photo below of the first near-industrialised prototype. The system is equipped with two multispectral cameras sensitive to various wavelengths; these provide high-resolution imaging of the left and right sides of the vehicle. It also features an air quality sensor that measures PM1, PM2.5, PM4, PM10, and NOx. The ultimate goal is to calculate an NDVI index to provide an initial assessment of a plant’s health and enable preventative maintenance (a well-known issue here in Rome).
