PARTICIPATION-02 | Multispecies, participatory and nature-positive spatial design

ACEAA – Association for the Study and Innovation in Architecture – is an official New European Bauhaus Partner based in Spain and is seeking to join a consortium preparing a proposal for HORIZON-NEB-2026-01-PARTICIPATION-02 – Innovative approaches for the spatial design of neighbourhoods.

Our expertise lies at the intersection of architecture, urban design, biodiversity, participatory design and more-than-human approaches to the built environment.

We can contribute to tasks related to:

• participatory and co-design methodologies;

• spatial design strategies for neighbourhood transformation;

• biodiversity and nature-positive design;

• multispecies and more-than-human perspectives;

• ecological and trans-scalar mapping;

• analysis of relations between public space, communities and ecological systems;

• living labs, workshops and experimental design processes;

• artistic and design-based research;

• dissemination and communication.

ACEAA is particularly interested in contributing as a project partner and Task Leader, working with universities, municipalities, research organisations, NGOs, cultural organisations and design practices.

We are also developing the concept of Urban Symbiosis, exploring how social diversity, biodiversity and spatial diversity can jointly contribute to more resilient and inclusive neighbourhoods.
