Asturias region as a pilot territory for PARTICIPATION-02

The Centro de Innovación Territorial (CIT) of Asturias, Spain, is interested in joining a consortium under HORIZON-NEB-2026-01-PARTICIPATION-02 – Innovative approaches for the spatial design of neighbourhoods.

We can contribute as a pilot site and territorial replication partner, providing access to rural and small-town environments in Asturias where innovative approaches to spatial design, co-creation and community participation can be tested and validated.

CIT works as a connector between local communities, municipalities, SMEs, entrepreneurs and other territorial stakeholders, enabling the implementation of innovation initiatives in real territorial settings.

Our potential contribution includes:

• Identification and mobilisation of suitable pilot territories and local stakeholders.

• Community engagement and co-creation activities.

• Testing and validation of methodologies in rural and small-town contexts.

• Connection with municipalities (more than 70), SMEs and local innovation ecosystems.

• Assessment of transferability and replication across other territories.

• Dissemination and exploitation of results through territorial networks.

We are particularly interested in consortia looking to complement urban neighbourhood pilots with rural or low-density territorial contexts, strengthening the diversity and replicability of the proposed solutions.

We are open to discussing pilot concepts and collaboration with coordinators and consortium partners currently preparing proposals.
