Seeking Consortium for Municipal Building Reuse and Green Transition
Partner at Energy Consulting Network
Denmark
About
ECNet (Energy Consulting Network, Denmark) is interested in joining a consortium under HORIZON-NEB-2026-01-BUSINESS-03 – Approaches to reuse vacant, obsolete or underutilised spaces.
Across Europe, municipalities face growing challenges related to vacant buildings, affordable housing, energy poverty, climate resilience, demographic change and the green transition. At the same time, significant parts of the existing building stock remain vacant or underutilised while communities struggle to maintain local services, social cohesion and economic activity.
ECNet brings more than 20 years of experience supporting municipalities, regions and communities in the fields of energy transition, energy renovation, climate planning, citizen engagement, financing and implementation of EU-funded projects.
We can contribute expertise in municipal planning, energy renovation, climate resilience, energy communities, financing models, social inclusion and community-led regeneration.
Denmark provides a unique demonstration environment through advanced digital building and energy data, municipal heat planning, strong local governance and extensive experience with energy renovation and community-based energy solutions. A Danish Living Lab could demonstrate how vacant and underutilised buildings can support climate-neutral, resilient and vibrant communities while contributing to the implementation of EPBD, EED, RED and Social Climate Plan objectives.
We are interested in collaborating with municipalities, universities, technical partners, housing organisations and European networks working on innovative approaches to building transformation, community development and the green transition.
