Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (ISKI) – Open for Collaboration | Horizon Europe Missions 2026

ISKI, as the main public authority responsible for the management of Istanbul’s water supply, wastewater, and urban water infrastructure in a мегacity context, expresses its strong interest in joining consortia under:

• HORIZON-MISS-2026-01-CLIMA-06 (Climate-resilient water infrastructure and inland water systems)

• HORIZON-MISS-2026-01-CLIMA-02 (Support to regions and local authorities for climate adaptation)

With extensive operational experience across complex, multi-source water systems and climate-sensitive urban environments, ISKI offers:

🔹 Pilot & Demonstration Capacity

• Access to real-scale urban water infrastructure (drinking water, wastewater, stormwater systems)

• Flood-prone streams, reservoirs, and basin-scale management areas in Istanbul

• Opportunity to test and validate innovative climate adaptation solutions in a large мегacity context

🔹 Data & Technical Expertise

• Long-term hydrological, hydraulic, and operational datasets

• Experience in flood management, drought resilience, and energy-efficient water operations

• Integration potential with digital tools (e.g., monitoring systems, early warning, digital twins)

🔹 Implementation & Replication

• Strong capacity for real-world implementation and scaling

• High replication potential for other metropolitan areas facing similar climate challenges

ISKI is particularly interested in collaborations focusing on:

• Climate-resilient water infrastructure

• Nature-based solutions and “sponge city” approaches

• Flood and drought risk management

• Real-time monitoring and decision-support systems
