Pilot-ready demonstration of climate adaptation for historic parks and mature urban trees

UTOI z. s. offers expertise and pilot-ready solutions for demonstrating climate adaptation of existing mature urban trees, with a strong focus on historic parks, squares and culturally sensitive urban sites, where improved microclimatic conditions support both the preservation of heritage and the well-being and comfort of citizens and visitors.

We work with applied tools and methods that help cities stabilise the cooling and resilience performance of existing trees under heat and drought stress, where replacement or redesign is not possible due to heritage constraints. Our approach combines practical tree management solutions, monitoring logic and performance indicators relevant for urban heat, water stress and ecosystem service delivery.

We can contribute to a proposal as a demonstration partner, providing:

• pilot-ready adaptation tools and methods,

• experience with mature trees in dense urban and heritage contexts,

• definition of monitoring and impact indicators (cooling, resilience, water stress),

• support for implementation in real urban sites.

We are interested in collaborating with cities, heritage sites, research partners and coordinators preparing proposals focused on climate adaptation, urban nature and cultural heritage.
