Partnership Opportunity: Circular Housing & Urban Regeneration (Horizon Europe NEB Call)
Board Member at Hosuing for IDP
Kyiv, Ukraine
About
We are currently exploring participation in the Horizon Europe call:
HORIZON-MISS-2026-04-CIT-NEB-B4P-CCRI-03
(Circular economy in the construction sector – New European Bauhaus)
The Housing for IDP team can contribute a unique and highly relevant perspective to such a consortium, sharing our on the ground expertise.
We are interested in contributing to a project focused on:
Circular and inclusive housing solutions with a particular emphasis on: adaptive reuse of existing buildings; circular construction practices (reuse of materials, modularity); social housing integration into urban systems; community-driven design approaches.
We bring a perspective that is currently underrepresented in many EU projects: post-war reconstruction as a testing ground for circularity. Ukraine today represents one of the largest reconstruction challenges in Europe and a real-life laboratory for adaptive reuse, rapid housing solutions, and resource efficiency.
We provide:
-
hands-on project implementation
-
work with municipalities and real beneficiaries
-
experience in transforming damaged or underused buildings into housing
Work with vulnerable communities with the expertise in: working with displaced populations, inclusive housing models, participatory approaches and community engagement.
Our involvement enables testing solutions in high-pressure environments, transferring knowledge between EU cities and Ukraine and scaling circular housing approaches across different contexts.
For EU cities, this collaboration offers an opportunity to test circular housing solutions in a real-world, high-demand environment, where speed, resource efficiency, and scalability are critical. It also enables knowledge exchange between EU urban systems and large-scale reconstruction processes in Ukraine, strengthening the replication potential of project outcomes across diverse contexts.
What we are looking for
We are currently seeking partners for a consortium, in particular:
-
Cities / municipalities who are interested in circular urban development and open to integrating social housing components.
-
Research institutions / universities with the expertise in circular construction, LCA / CO₂ assessment and urban systems and planning.
-
Technical partners: engineering firms, construction companies and material innovation actors.
Our potential role in the consortium
Within the consortium, we can take a leading role as implementation partner (pilot activities related to housing and reuse) or social innovation partner (community engagement and inclusive housing design) or replication partner (Ukraine case) demonstrating scalability beyond EU contexts.
We would be very interested to explore your interest in this call and understand your current project ideas or consortium plans. We would be happy to arrange a short call (30–45 minutes) to explore synergies.
