User-Centric Co-Design for Inclusive Digital Solutions in EU Missions

About

Fundacion Cibervoluntarios is a non-profit organisation specialised in digital inclusion, citizen empowerment and human-centred innovation. We support Horizon Europe Mission consortia by applying a User-Centric Approach (UCA) to the co-design and co-creation of digital solutions, ensuring they are accessible, usable and adopted by all citizens, including vulnerable and under-represented groups.

Many Mission projects develop advanced digital tools that struggle to scale due to limited usability, lack of citizen involvement and insufficient consideration of diverse user needs. Our role is to bridge the gap between technology development and real-world use, embedding user perspectives throughout the innovation lifecycle.

Our contribution includes:

User-centric design and co-creation methodologies adapted to Mission-oriented projects
Engagement of diverse user groups, with specific focus on digital inclusion and accessibility
Facilitation of participatory design workshops and iterative testing in real contexts
Integration of user feedback into solution refinement and deployment
Adoption-focused indicators to validate usability and impact beyond pilots

We typically act as WP leader or key partner for:

User-centric design and co-creation
Inclusive innovation processes
Citizen involvement in digital solution development

We are particularly interested in projects that:

Develop digital tools or platforms intended for citizen use
Include local or territorial pilots (cities, regions, communities)
Aim to deliver inclusive, scalable and socially robust digital solutions
Seek to strengthen impact, adoption and legitimacy through co-design

We deliberately maintain a focused and pragmatic approach, enabling high-quality delivery with a small, specialised team.
