Expertise in solutions to adapt cities to climate change

Since 2021, alongside the City of Paris, the Greater Paris Metropolis, and ADEME, a dedicated initiative has been supporting climate change adaptation for cities across the Île-de-France region.

This initiative is designed to turn knowledge into action by helping local authorities, urban planners, and practitioners anticipate and respond to climate impacts such as heatwaves, flooding, and urban overheating.

It is built around two complementary pillars:

A strong professional network and capacity-building program

• Events to share real-world feedback and best practices

• Site visits, workshops, conferences, and webinars

• A growing community of public and private stakeholders working on urban adaptation

A practical digital platform dedicated to adaptation solutions

• 90 operational adaptation solution fact sheets

• A technical guide on urban surfaces and materials

• 20 fact sheets on available financial support schemes

• An interactive map of local adaptation projects

By connecting expertise, solutions, and local projects, this initiative accelerates the implementation of climate adaptation strategies, strengthens resilience at the city scale, and supports the long-term climate objectives of the Paris region.
