About
What our group offers to the consortium
Our group contributes specialised expertise in dune-based nature-based solutions (NbS) for protecting coastal infrastructure against climate-driven erosion, flooding and storm impacts. We combine coastal engineering, geomorphological understanding and ecological design to develop adaptation solutions that preserve both heritage integrity and landscape value.
We offer quantitative risk assessment and performance monitoring, integrating field measurements, remote sensing and process-based modelling to assess short- and long-term effectiveness under compound climate hazards. This enables robust demonstration, avoidance of maladaptation and evidence-based decision-making for heritage managers and local authorities.
We bring strong experience in real-world demonstration projects with municipalities and regional authorities, supporting co-design with heritage managers, policymakers and local communities, in line with Mission Adaptation requirements and SSH integration.
Beyond technical delivery, we add value through consortium coordination capacity, contribution to replication and upscaling strategies, and alignment with EU Mission monitoring frameworks and Communities of Practice. Our role strengthens scientific credibility, policy relevance and the long-term deployability of project outcomes across European coastal regions.
